NBC’s The Voice achieved social media success during its sixth season, earning Guinness World Records recognition as the Most tweeted TV series in one minute, generating 310,000 tweets across the US in 60 seconds. 

Occurring during their live semi-final results show on May 13, 2014, the record-breaking feat was likely a result of their “Instant Save,” which allows viewers the chance to tweet votes and determine the fate of performers competing during the live broadcast;

In a successful attempt to circumvent TV piracy, which earned the show a Guinness World Records title for Most pirated TV programme, HBO’s global hit Game of Thrones broadcast episode one of season five in a staggering 173 countries simultaneously, thwarting the pirates and earning the record title forLargest TV drama simulcast. ‘Thrones beat the previous record by two countries, set by CSI just five weeks earlier

Some of music’s biggest superstars are also recognised. Taylor Swift  has added to her haul of awards by banking the Most million-selling weeks on US albums charts. The only act to hold three million selling weeks, the “Shake It Off” star achieved the rare feat with first-week sales of her albums Speak Now, Red and 1989.

Despite not releasing a new album since 1999, Dr. Dre earned the Guinness World Records title for Highest earnings ever for a musician

According to Forbes, the hip-hop musician and producer raked in an estimated pre-tax earnings of $620 million, primarily from the sale of Beats Electronics to Apple in May 2014. 

In the UK, Ed Sheeran  takes his place in the record books for Longest time to reach Number 1 on the UK singles charts with his track ‘Thinking out loud’ reaching top spot in 19 weeks. Elsewhere, Meghan Trainor’s ‘All About That Base’ earns her the record for First song to reach the UK top 40 on streams alone.

The title for First person to reach 100 million "likes" on an official Facebook page belongs to Colombian vocalist Shakira, who reached the landmark in July 2014. As of 5 February 2015, the "Hips Don't Lie" star had amassed 107,142,986 "likes". Only two Facebook pages have more "likes" than Shakira's - Facebook for Every Phone (547,111,981) and Facebook itself (169,250,505).

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara celebrates her third year as the Highest earning actress in a current TV series, earning a huge £21.7 million in 2014, surpassing her own record of £19.1 million in 2013. 

Once again, she earned more than her male counter-part, ‘Two And A Half Men’ actor, Ashton Kutcher, who earned £16.5 million achieving him the title for Highest earnings for a television actor in a current series. Both have some work to do if they are to surpass Jerry Seinfeld’s all time record of a jaw-dropping £159.5 million back in 1998!

Russell Wilson main Powerhouse athletes join Hollywood’s elite in the star studded pages of the 2016 edition. Despite a devastating loss to the New England Patriots during Super Bowl XLIX – which was the Most watched sporting event with 114 million US viewers –Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is the First player with 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in a game, which he achieved during a game against the St. Louis Rams on October 19, 2014. 

Tied with Peyton Manning, Wilson also shares the record for Most touchdowns thrown by a first-year quarterback at 26. On his record achievements, Russell said: "How awesome is this! I can’t wait to get a copy of the book".
