Exhibition basketball team The Harlem Globetrotters (USA) have celebrated Guinness World Records Day 2015 by achieving seven incredible world record titles at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Arizona, USA.
Last year’s GWR Day, saw Globetrotters star Thunder Law notched up the record for the Furthest basketball shot made backwards adding to his record for Longest successful basketball shot.
And in January they added more titles to their array of record-breaking feats, including the Furthest basketball hook shot and the Most basketball underhanded half-court shots in one minute.
But this year’s GWR Day marks their most jaw-dropping title haul yet, beginning with a record for the Farthest kneeling basketball shot made blindfolded, achieved by Handles Franklin with a remarkable 18.47 m (60 ft 7.5) in throw.
Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Alex Angert was on hand to verify all of The Harlem Globetrotters' records and present each member with their awards.
Thunder Law added another certificate to his mounting collection with the Longest basketball shot made backwards, netting the ball from a distance of 21.18 m (69 ft 6 in).
Ant Atkinson and Cheese Chisholm secured a record for the Most basketball three-pointers made in one minute by a pair with 19.
Throwing the ball from 25.81 m (84 ft 8.5 in), Hammer Harrison smashed the Longest underhand basketball shot ever.
In an extremely tricky and particularly entertaining challenge, Scooter Christensen managed to set a record for the Longest duration spinning a basketball on the nose, keeping the ball turning for an unbelievable 7.7 seconds.
Zeus McClurkin jumped up to successfully put the ball through the hoop a whopping 15 times to win the title Most basketball slam dunks in one minute.
Lastly, Big Easy Lofton (who gets his nickname from growing up in New Orleans and his easy-going nature) scored the Furthest blindfolded basketball hook shot with a spectacular 15.32 m (50 ft 3.5 in) throw.
