Comedy legend Lucille Ball had her famous polka-dot dress sold for $168,000 (£108,436) at the "Profiles in History" auction. Surely a huge sum for an iconic dress from the seminal "I Love Lucy" show but still actually well short of the record for most expensive dress sold at auction. That belonged to another Fifties starlet: Marilyn Monroe, whose famous dress from "The Seven Year Itch" sold for $4.6 million (£2.8 million) at an auction held at The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles, California, USA, on June 18, 2011.

Famed heavy metal rocker Rob Zombie finds himself in the news -- for making a noise complaint. The White Zombie frontman has filed a complaint with his town in Connecticut that a nearby skatepark causes excessive noise around his home. Despite his rocking ways, Zombie obviously wasn't ready for this, as he'd never played in front of the loudest scream by a crowd indoors, set at 131.6 dBA by the audience of FAMA's concert at Hong Kong International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong, China, on Sept. 6, 2009.

A Michigan couple recently welcomed its 12th child into the world. Nothing too remarkable there, as a lot families have that many children. Except in this family, all 12 children -- are boys. The Schwandts admitted a part of them hoped baby No. 12 could be a girl, but that they're of course thrilled about their latest family addition. While we have yet to receive any official birth documents from the family, it is believed the Schwandts hold the record for most consecutive sons born to the same couple.

Lastly, technology is great but there comes a time for everyone when we really hate our computers. Turns out, my fellow Americans, you're not alone: 36 percent of U.S. responders in a recent survey admitted to physically or verbally abusing their computers. But no need to get angry with your electronics. Just move on, maybe by donating that frustrating PC for a shot at the most consumer electronics recycled in 24 hours (multiple venues), which totaled a weight of 36,455.22 kg (80,370 lb) by Sims Recycling Solutions at five locations throughout the U.S. on April 21, 2012.
