When Priceline Pharmacies organises a record attempt women know they're going to leave the event with a smile on their face. The organisation, always in the name of their amazing charity arm The Priceline Sisterhood, is becoming quite well known for breaking world records in the classiest of circumstances.
In September 2011 Priceline smashed the record for the most nails filed and varnished in eight hours (2572 people), and in March 2012 the company returned to Sydney's Martin Place to set a new record for biggest breakfast in bed (289 people). This time they were back in the same location, under a marquee and surrounded by their trademark pink branding, to raise more money for their chosen charities including Look Good Feel Better.
The record, sticking to the Priceline theme of giving something back to the people that support them, was the largest make up application class.
The event was MC'd by celebrity travel reporter and TV star Catriona Rowntree and the class was led by Helen Dowsley, one of Australia's leading hair and make up artists. Helen demonstrated her techniques on spokesmodel Annabella Barber as the crowd of seated participants, all of whom had been given their own make up set and mirror, watched then applied make up, using the new techniques, to their own faces.
At the end of the class Priceline CEO Stephen Roche accepted the certificate from Guinness World Records' man Down Under, Chris Sheedy. A total of 261 women had taken part in the lesson and, once again, they all left the event with a smile on their face and a spring in their step.
