The team from the recently launched Gizmodo UK took on their US counterparts in a transatlantic tech challenge for Guinness World Records Day.

With a time of 4.7 seconds to beat, both offices went about trying to set a new benchmark for the fastest time to type the alphabet on an iPad.

Despite a sterling effort from Editor Kat Hannaford and News Editor Sam Gibbs in the UK, the US earned the bragging rights with video editor Woody Allen Jang clocking an incredible, world-record-setting time of 3.93 seconds.
