The Brief

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City set out to stage a cultural moment that would highlight the Kingdom's heritage during the national Founding Day celebrations. Recognising the importance of the traditional dance known as Ardah for Saudi identity and culture, the commission aimed to organise a mass-performance that could be seen globally.

The Solution

Through Guinness World Records consultancy offerings, the team received guidance on evaluating which record category fit best the brief provided. On 23 February 2025, the attempt was officially recognised: 633 people participated in the Ardah dance, making it the largest Ardah performance on record worldwide. The recognition drew widespread media attention, highlighting both the success of the event and the symbolic value of preserving and celebrating Saudi culture.

Today, we didn’t just honor our history—we became part of it! This record is a testament to our leadership’s vision and a powerful reminder that our traditions have no limits
