The Brief
HSBC encourage all their employees to take part in voluntary and charitable work, from local community projects to global causes. Part of HSBC’s CSR policy is for each employee to participate in a day of volunteering. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an alternative to the physical activities was needed to successfully continue the employee initiative.
The Solution
HSBC were looking for an engaging activation to get colleagues together and raise money for charity. 300 participants from different countries were invited to the online event. The attempt took place on Zoom and connected employees around the world in a virtual “Mexican wave”.
An Official Adjudicator was present in the online attempt to confirm whether they had achieved the record title. HSBC employees broke the record, and the whole event helped bring everyone together for a good cause with UNICEF.
