The Brief
For its 3rd annual Foodscape conference, Datassential wanted to provide guests with the ultimate dining experience. The two-day event began on 24 September 2019, where over 600 foodservice professionals gathered in Chicago to discuss the latest trends in the culinary industry.
The Solution
Teaming up with Boar’s Head Brand, Datassential enlisted GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ to create the longest charcuterie board. The record was confirmed prior to lunchtime on the 24th by onsite adjudicator, Andrew Glass. As hungry guests arrived, they were presented with a massive charcuterie board, spanning 150.5 ft (45.73 m) across the “Eat the World Global Culinary Theater.” The platter stretched down a table called the “Come Together Table” - its name symbolizing the 2019 conference theme of globalism and uniting people across cultures – with chairs bordering the edges for guests to eat with one another.
Breaking a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title was one of the highlights of Foodscape! Without the responsiveness, clear communication and dedication of the Guinness World Records team, we would have not been able to break the record for the longest charcuterie board.
