The Brief
Each year, Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland host their annual conference for its 750 employees. The conference was created to inspire and motivate all employees and celebrate recent successes that have been achieved throughout the company. The conference offers a chance to develop the business’s aims for the upcoming year.
2019 is a significant year, as it marks Coca-Cola HBC’s 80th year working in Ireland and Northern Ireland. It was crucial that this employee engagement conference highlighted a “sense of togetherness” and “can-do” attitude across the company. In Belfast, 463 employees all came together to carry out the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the Most people crushing cans simultaneously.
The Solution
Guinness World Records, along with Coca-Cola, saw an amazing opportunity to bring together two teams to achieve one common goal, a goal that displayed the organisation’s personal and professional development.
Coca-Cola worked with Guinness World Records to successfully achieve the record title for the most people crushing cans simultaneously within 30 seconds. Coca-Cola worked closely with Guinness World Records to ensure that their conference was maximised to its full potential. The chosen title brought the organisation’s brand values to life, ensuring that employees were left feeling enthusiastic with a clear sense of pride to have achieved an official Guinness World Records title.
All employees were also rewarded with a Guinness World Records medal, as a keepsake on the day. Employees described the conference to be:
“Brilliant and uplifting part of the day. Created fantastic team camaraderie.”
“Novel idea and great for fostering team spirit”
“Loved it - got everyone together in a relaxed way to achieve greatness!”
Employees have come together to demonstrate what true team spirit can achieve. It also marks the start of our 80th year operating in Northern Ireland, and with this great team of people, I’m confident our best days are yet to come!
