The Brief

A1 Slovenia, a telecom provider, in cooperation with the Varni internet institute have been running a free educational workshop for Slovenian elementary school children around internet safety, called Online Brainiacs.

As an upgrade to this initiative, they wanted to increase activity and reach as many children as possible and create excitement.

An event was needed that was easily accessible, fun and to allow easy participation of schools and school children across the country.

The Solution

Working with GWR, A1 found their answer with a fun and interactive record attempt for the largest online quiz on the topic of internet safety. The remote format allowed a range of schools to participate and maximised the reach of their attempt.

Reaching their desired target audience, children from elementary schools collectively watched the informative Youtube video livestream in their classrooms and took the quiz on their own  personal devices or school computers.

The challenge provided an inclusive and appealing way to get children engaged in the topic of internet safety and allowed A1 to achieve their overall goal in creating an interest on this important topic with 15,225 participants successfully taking part.
The overwhelming school interest in participating is proof that principals and teachers are aware that knowledge about online safety and the safe use of digital technologies is an important skill for children these days. That's why we are proud of this quiz and the record we have broken, as we have educated even more children to live safely online. As a provider of communication and digital services, we feel a responsibility towards our users, especially the youngers, to teach them how to use them safely.
