Thousands of people joined together by an extraordinarily long climbing rope hiked up Presolana mountain in Northern Italy in a bid to break a Guinness World Records title and raise money for a disabled access path.
The event was organised by the Province of Bergamo, Union Bergamasca Sections of the Italian Alpine Club, local associations for mountaineering and mountains communities.
Equipped with safety helmets, climbing harnesses, ropes and snap-hooks, an incredible 2,846 people achieved the title Most people connected by rope.
The organisers used Google Maps Treks to decide on the trail the group would take around the mountain.

Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Lucia Sinigagliesi was invited along to count and verify the achievement.
The attempt aimed to promote safety and sustainability in the mountains, with people of all ages invited to get involved.
In addition to this, a significant amount of money was raised for a project that will improve accessibility to the mountain for disabled people.
This is the second year in a row the area has set a Guinness World Records title.
In July last year, Bergamo Municipality and Turismo Bergamo achieved the Most couples hugging, with 11,460 (5730 couples) from the Province of Bergamo.
