LEGO is used to make all sorts of bold creations, but one shopping mall has now used it to create an enormous flag made up of 168,000 individual bricks.

Oman Avenue Mall has broken the Guinness World Records title for the Largest LEGO® flag with a 2.33 m (7 ft 7.7 in) tall x 4.12 m (13 ft 6.2 in) wide creation in honour of Oman's 47th National Day.

Adjudicators judged the record on National Day itself (18 November) with the flag put on display in the mall.

Gogi George, Oman Avenues Mall and LuLu Group International General Manager, Development & Leasing said: "Oman Avenues Mall is honoured to be able to celebrate the day with this exciting Guinness World Records official attempt, where the people of Oman can come and witness history being made with the creation of the world’s largest 3D national flag in the form of the Sultanate of Oman’s national flag."

As well as securing the Guinness World Records title, Oman Avenues Mall hosted several 47th National Day-themed activities including music performances from a traditional Omani band and handing out free gifts and souvenirs to visitors.
