Vodafone Mobile Services Ltd (India) wanted to do something spectacular to kick off its latest internet campaign, promoting the launch of SuperNet™ in UP East Circle, so they decided to attempt a Guinness World Records title.

Earlier this month, at Lucknow, India, 250 Vodafone employees from the regional office worked together to create the Largest disposable cup mosaic in the world, measuring an impressive 627 sqm. (6746.5 sq ft).

It took the team over four and a half hours to place approximately 140,000 individual paper cups.

The disposable cups were different coloured and the mosaic depicted the telecommunication brand’s logo.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar was in attendance to verify the attempt and he was thrilled to present an official certificate to the new record-holders at the end.

Nipun Sharma, Business Head-UP-East, Vodafone India commented: “It is a matter of great pride for all of us at Vodafone India to be recognised by the Guinness World Records for this innovative and unique feat by our employees. We are always on  the look out to provide differentiated service experience to our customers and this is yet another way of bringing our brand promise into the limelight.”
