Enormous palm tree made of fruit breaks record at Saudi Marketing Conference

Pastry and sweets manufacturer SAADEDDIN Co. unveiled the world’s Largest fruit sculpture at the Saudi Marketing Conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia last week.

 

The idea behind the impressive creation was to reflect the palm tree that is featured in the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative logo.

 

The company used a whopping 1,800 kg of dates to build the 5.95 metres (19 ft 6 in) tall palm tree.

 

 

The fruits were painted with edible gold paint to add some sparkle to the striking artwork.

 

As per the Guinness World Records guidelines, the sculpture was made out of hollow steel tubing and entirely covered in pieces of fruit.

 

 

Dr. Megdad, CEO of Omega Consult said: “Sharing global experiences that can be benefit from locally along with rapid leaps towards achieving the vision of the Kingdom’s developmental plan for 2030. The announcement of a new Guinness World Records title is anticipated during the event to add to the kingdom’s achievements.”

 

Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Pravin Patel attended the marketing event to measure and verify the record.

 

Once he had announced the success, the dates were distributed to charities to be eaten.

 

 

SAADEDDIN Co. broke the previous record of 3.06 m (10 ft 0.47 in) that was achieved by Dairy Queen Canada/Orange Julius in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on 13 August 2013. They constructed a tree from pineapples, mangos, green apples, strawberries, oranges, and blueberries.
