Fantasy role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy has captured the attention of gamers, becoming the most viewed single player videogame on Twitch with 1,280,000 concurrent viewers.

Set in 1899, nearly 100 years before a certain Mr. Harry Potter attended the school, the game follows a 5th-year student embarking on a magical quest investigating a goblin rebellion.

The game was released worldwide on 10 February but reached this peak viewership three days prior during its early release.

It was first confirmed to be in development in 2020, with an initial release scheduled for 2022 but this was then pushed back until early 2023.

Twitch is one of the most popular platforms for streaming gaming content and was purchased by Amazon in 2014.

In the game, players get to roam the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry freely whilst completing missions as well as attempting multiple side quests and easter eggs.

There are plenty of secrets to discover within the grounds of Hogwarts, many of which are yet to be found.

The content can change depending upon which house you pick at the beginning: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

Hogwarts Legacy continues to be popular with viewers on the streaming platform; it's consistently one of the highest watched games alongside League of Legends, Minecraft and Valorant.

Popular streamers such as NICKMERCS as well as Zerkaa and Miniminter from the Sidemen group have featured playthroughs of the game on Twitch.
