The mouth-watering meal has achieved a new Guinness World Records for the Greatest variety of cheese on a pizza.

The pizza consisted of a total of 288.6 g of cheese – but just 2.6 g of each variety because the dough base was only a couple of centimetres larger than a regular pizza.

It’s melted toppings included a mixture of classic and speciality cheeses, such as mozzarella, Emmental, red Leicester, Comté and Raclette de Chèvre.

It was baked by an American pizza chef at an event organised by pizza order and delivery service pizza.de, Berlin-based Italian restaurant Vadoli and Assemble Entertainment GmbH in Germany last week.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Lena Kuhlmann adjudicated the record attempt, with the assistance of a cheese expert.

Once the record was confirmed, the pizza – and nine other cheese-loaded pizzas – were sliced up and given out to guests at the event.

Dairy specialist Martina Loeser was one of lucky people who got to try it: "Crunchy and cheesy – each piece tastes different!"

Nikolay Abrosov, General Manager at pizza.de commented on the achievement: "pizza.de has been delivering pizza to Germany’s fast-food lovers for over 10 years. We know what kind of variety is appreciated!

"With this record we’re pushing the boundaries and bringing variety to the next level, showing what a pizza can really do."
