Mansoor bin Mohammed (pictured below), son of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, pressed the button which started the breathtaking show.

The enchanting 360-degrees display, which was entitled ‘Stardancer’, also included music, fireworks and dancing (though these aspects of the show were not included as part of the record).

Thousands of spectators turned up to witness the record-breaking performance.

Once she had verified the new record, Guinness World Records adjudicator Leila Issa took to the stage to present the event’s organisers with an official certificate.

This attempt marks the launch of the Dubai Shopping Festival, and Dubai Festival City will now run IMAGINE shows for the mall’s guests every day.
