Guinness World Records recently received this amazing footage of a record attempt by Finnish energy company St1, whose employees broke the record for the Most people on a single pair of skis at an event in Lahti, Finland.
A total of 130 participants fastened themselves onto one giant pair of skis – which were about 140 metres (460 ft) long – and proceeded to march in unison across the snow.

The event took place in the car park outside Lahti Exhibition Center on a specially prepared 170‑m (558‑ft) track.
The event was set up by St1 as a surprise for its employees.
In the company's application for the record, a spokesperson told Guinness World Records: “The aim of the event is … to motivate, to inspire and to strengthen team spirit and sense of community.”
The rules for this record state that once all the participants are ‘wearing’ the skis, they must travel a minimum distance of 120 metres – not an easy task when you are attached to lots of people by giant planks of metal.
If any participant falls or comes away from their bindings at any point during their travels, the attempt becomes void. Luckily, all the St1 employees made it across the track without toppling over.
Previously, the record for the most people on a single pair of skis was 120 and was achieved by Madshus in Gjøvik, Norway back in 2006. The skis were 130 metres (426.5 ft) long and the group skied a distance of 446 metres (1,463 ft).
