Guinness World Records has just confirmed that Ms. Chan Yuen-ting, the coach of Eastern Football Team in Hong Kong, is the First female football (soccer) coach to win a top-flight men's championship.

Since she was named the coach of Eastern in December 2015, Ms Chan's team has lost only one of fifteen games played and won the championship with a game to spare.

After beating South China at the Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground in Hong Kong with a score of 2-1, Eastern had their first championship win in 21 years.

Oh hearing about her incredible record, 27-year-old Ms. Chan said: “It’s my honor to win this title. Thanks for the great support from society and industries. I will continue trying my best to spur the development of football in Hong Kong.”

Rowan Simons, President of Guinness World Records Greater China, said: “Congratulations to Ms. Chan. She has created a historic moment in football and we hope her success will encourage many more women to participate at all levels. ”
