Record Holder Profile Video: Bob Wade and the largest cowboy boot sculpture

Artist Bob Wade (USA) has created the Tallest cowboy boot sculpture in the world with the super-sized shoes measuring an immense 10.74 m (35 ft 3 in) in height, towering past the surrounding buildings.

 

Containing what Bob calls a “baby Eiffel Tower” (an intricate crisscross steel structure) the boots are covered in concrete mixed with fibreglass.

 

 

The record-setting construction is also 10.16 m (33 ft 4 in) long and 2.74 m (9 ft) wide.

 

The boots are so vast that they inspired Bob to write a country and western song called “Too long, too wide, too high” after he struggled to transport the boots to their current location at the entrance of the North Star Mall in San Antonio, Texas, USA.

 

 

Interestingly, the sculpture is more than four times the size of the Largest cowboy boot (2.50 m tall and 2.38 m long).

 

Speaking to Guinness World Records about his incredible achievement, Bob said, “The idea that one of my projects would end up in this famous publication is pretty overwhelming.”
