Every Wednesday we’ll be shining a light on the coolest, wackiest, or most unique records from around the globe recently approved by our Records Management Team with our Spotlight series.

Taekwondo expert Edin Kajevic from Visoko in Bosnia and Herzegovina used his powerful elbows to shatter the record for the most coconuts smashed in one minute with an incredible total of 40. See the video below.

On achieving the record, the tired but jubilant Kajevic told the celebrating crowd: “Breaking the Guinness record is not just my success, but the success of my city and country”.

More than 1,000 people attended the spectacular show of strength at the local cinema hall in Vasoko where the record was being attempted, with another 1,000 outside watching on a large screen.

Kajevic managed to smash the previous record by some distance. The previous record of 21 coconuts smashed in one minute was achieved by Jeffrey James Lippold (USA) on the set of truTV's 'Guinness World Records Unleashed' in Los Angeles, California, USA, on 24 June 2013.
