Guinness World Records can today confirm British stunt driver Alastair Moffatt has won back the title for tightest car parallel parking after bettering Han Yue’s seemingly unbeatable record.
The Gloucestershire wheelman, who has held the record on two occasions previously, managed to slide his way into a gap measuring just 7.5cm longer than the Fiat 500C 1.2 Cult he was driving during an attempt which took place at the Birmingham NEC earlier this year.
After verifying evidence provided by Alastair's team, Guinness World Records has approved the attempt as a record with the incredible display of driving skill beating Chinese driver Han Yue’s previous benchmark of 8cm.
In the video below from 2012, Alastair and his equally skilled behind the wheel brother John set the then record for tightest car parallel parking in a gap of 13.1 cm (5.16 in) during filming for the Officially Amazing TV show.
