Churchill Dog beats Spiderman to take most contributions to a greeting card record

Spiderman's 50 ^th birthday has been upstaged by an insurance company mascot for the Guinness World Records record title for most contributions to a greeting card.

UK firm Churchill Insurance's mascot The Churchill Dog celebrated his birthday this week with a record breaking 4,347 people writing a greeting in his birthday card.

Fans of the nodding dog were able to send their wishes via Facebook and Churchill Insurance staff were given the opportunity to sign the card during an office to office tour.

The previous record set earlier this month for Spiderman's birthday was 2,707 signatures.

With a fan base as big as Churchill's, maybe its about time we saw a new character on the comic book shelves.
