Over 500 participants joined Nintendo of America last month in Seattle, WA, USA to set the new record of the most people blowing a chewing gum bubble simultaneously.

The event was held during PAX Prime, a gaming convention held at the Washington State Convention Center.

A total of 600 participants attempted the record, though 64 participants were discounted as their bubbles did not withstand the 30-second minimum. The record was broken with 536 participants.

"Kirby is no ordinary character, so it's not a surprise that his fans would go to extraordinary lengths to mark his 20th anniversary," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "Nintendo is proud to have such a dedicated and enthusiastic following. Between this new world record and the upcoming launch of Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition, it's turning out to be one heck of an anniversary party."

Kirby has starred in over 20 video games, selling more than 33 million units worldwide.
