Whether it is in our books, on our numerous web and digital platforms or in the makeup of our thousands of record holders, we feel duty bound to discover and share the interests, passions and achievements of people from all walks of life, free from prejudice and discrimination.
In doing so, we hope to encourage everybody to keep an open mind, seek answers and respect what makes us different, but also what unites us.
We understand there is still a lot of work to do to ensure all voices are heard as equal, and we accept responsibility for the role we must play.
Record breaking is for everyone, everywhere. We celebrate the unique talents, backgrounds, and stories of people from all walks of life, and we are actively committed to fairness, dignity, and respect for everyone.
We take positive action to champion diversity and create an inclusive environment for all record applicants and participants. If you need reasonable adjustments to take part because of a disability or other needs, please let us know. We want to make record-breaking accessible to everyone.
In some record categories, we split records by sex to ensure fair comparison and opportunity, recognising the different physical characteristics that may affect performance. We always aim to do this fairly, transparently, in the spirit of inclusion and in accordance with UK law (as we are a UK registered business). Further splits for those that do not wish to be categorised by sex registered at birth are also available.
We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind, and we continuously review our processes to remove barriers and encourage diverse achievements. At Guinness World Records, we’re proud to represent the amazing variety of individuals and communities that make our world extraordinary.
