The greatest distance run on a treadmill in 48 hours (female) is 340.36 km (211.49 mi), and was achieved by Emma Timmis (New Zealand), in Christchurch, New Zealand, on 21-23 July 2023.

Emma attempted this record to learn more about her mental strengths. She wanted to push herself to her limit. This attempt was part of a practice run for the week long version of the record which was valuable experience for herself and her team as they learnt much more about the extent of the GWR evidence requirements and how to streamline the process in future.

Emma has also previously achieved other records including the longest journey by elliptical cycle in a single country and the fastest crossing of New Zealand on foot (female).
