Dame Vera Lynn (UK, b. Vera Welch, 20 March 1917, d. 18 June 2020) was 99 years 362 days old when the compilation album 100 was released on 17 March 2017. The 12-song collection, in celebration of the singer’s 100th birthday, features brand-new orchestral versions and Lynn’s original vocals on classics such as “We’ll Meet Again” (with Alfie Boe), “(There’ll be Bluebirds Over) The White Cliffs of Dover” (with Alexander Armstrong) and “As Time Goes By” (with Aled Jones), and a previously unreleased cover of Gavin Sutherland’s “Sailing”. The album debuted at No.3 on the UK’s Official Albums Chart.

100 followed hot on the heels of Her Greatest from Abbey Road, a compilation album released a week earlier on 10 March 2017, also to mark Dame Vera’s 100th birthday. The album features three previously unreleased songs: “My Son, My Son”, “It’s a Sin to Tell a Lie” and “No Regrets”.

Colette Maze (France, b. Colette Saulnier, 16 June 1914, d. 19 November 2023) released a new album of classical music – 109 ans de piano (“109 Years of Piano”) – at the age of 109 years 15 days on 1 July 2023. Maze was the oldest musician to release a new album.
