The oldest person to grow a new tooth is Erna Kohane (USA, b 24 August 1921), who was confirmed to have a new tooth growing aged 92 years and 144 days, when verified in Mount Arlington, New Jersey, USA on 15 January 2014.
The new tooth was discovered after Ms Kohane complained to her dentist that her dentures were no longer sitting comfortably. Upon inspection, the oral surgeon discovered that tooth #1 was erupting and then proceeded to extract it.
