Werner Berger (South Africa/Canada, b. 16 July 1937) climbed the highest mountains of each of the seven continents: he completed the Kosciusko (aka Bass) list aged 69 years 310 days on 22 May 2007, when he reached the top of Everest (8,848 m; 29,029 ft). Almost six years later, on 21 November 2013 and aged 76 years 128 days, he successfully climbed Puncak Jaya, aka Carstenz Pyramid (4,884 m; 16,024 ft), the highest mountain in Oceania according to the Messner list. 2002 - Aconcagua/South America (January) 2002 - Mt.
