The longest videogame marathon on a Japanese-style role playing game (JRPG) lasted 40 hours, achieved by Aarón González Santomé (Spain), who played Final Fantasy X/X-2, in Ourense, Galicia, Spain, from 4 to 6 May 2017.


The record attempt took place during the ICC TECHNIUM LAN PARTY, hosted in the 'As Lagoas' campus in Ourense. Aarón González Santomé completed the game's story line after 33 hours and 26 minutes, but restarted the campaign and continued to play for a further 6 hours and 34 minutes.
