As of 15 April 2017, a total of 828 episodes of Doctor Who (BBC, UK) had been aired. This total encompasses the original run (1963–89; 694 episodes) and the modern run that started in 2005 (133 episodes and counting). It also includes a full-length TV movie, but not spoofs, spin-offs or webisodes.

Beginning on 15 April 2017, the 10th series of modern Doctor Who starred the 12th incarnation of the Doctor – played by Peter Capaldi (UK) – alongside a new companion called Bill (Pearl Mackie).
