Forty members of the Corps of Drums of Her Majesty's Royal Marines Band Service took it in turns to drum on the same single snare drum. The record attempt was to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Royal Marines founded in 1664. The actors Harrison Ford and Tom Hardy were present to launch the record attempt on 30 April 2014.
