The largest parade of floats consisted of 343 floats at the "Corso do Zé Pereira" in Teresina, Brazil, on 11 February 2012.
Held since 1940, the annual parade is a "pre-Carnaval" party offered free of charge by the city of Teresina. The 2012 edition featured an estimated 40,000 in attendance to take part in and witness the record-breaking parade, which lasted for more than 6.5 hours. The parade route ran for 7.3 km (4.54 mi) with float themes including disco, Disney World, and John Lennon.
