Largest Macarena dance

The largest Macarena dance involved 2,219 participants and was achieved by Eggbuckland Community College (UK) in Plymouth, UK, on 7 July 2011. The entire routine lasted for 5 min 36.3 sec and took place on the college's athletics field, prior to their annual sports day. The event was organised by a Year 11 pupil, Daniel Phillips, who presented the idea to the school governors on behalf of the Student Leadership Team. Staff and students from Eggbuckland Community College took part in the record attempt and were joined by 6 local primary schools.
