The largest donation of sports balls in 24 hours (single location) consisted of 6,816 balls donated in an event organized by Kaiser Permanente, San Diego (USA) at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California, USA, on 6 December 2011. Kaiser Permanente's scheduled attempt was for the most sports balls donated in 8 hours, but it also surpassed the established minimum for a 24-hour attempt in just 8 hours. Balls were all donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Diego as well as the San Diego Unified School District. For the purposes of this record, only sports/athletic balls were included, thus those that were considered toys or not used as a derivative of an organized sport were not eligible. This was the 12th and final record event by Kaiser Permanente in 2011, attempting a Guinness World Records attempt each month for the year.
