The highest score on Donkey Kong is 1,218,000 points and was achieved by Wes Copeland (USA), in Boston, Massachusetts, USA on 5 May 2016.
In a live stream recorded on 5 May 2016, Donkey Kong master Wes Copeland (USA) racked up a possibly perfect 1,218,000 points in Nintendo’s 1981 arcade classic. Copeland’s record haul not only surpasses his own previous records set on 4 January 2016 (1,190,000 points) and on 19 April 2016 (1,195,100 points), but also reaffirms his title against rival Robbie Lakeman (USA), who had previously scored 1,190,200 points on 11 April 2016. Experts speculate that the Copeland’s latest score includes every known available point in the game. However, Copeland himself said that somebody could still potentially beat with “a lot of luck”. He told IGN: “I've stopped playing because I think if I sat down and played every day for the next five years, I still don't think I'd be able to beat this score. It's the equivalent of playing poker and being dealt 10 royal flushes in a row.”
