The greatest distance covered by wheelchair trainer in 24 hours is 240.47 km (149.42 miles) and was achieved by Carlos Roberto Oliveira dos Santos (Brazil) at Barra Shopping Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil from 31 August to 1 September 2013. Carlos Oliveira is a professional wheelchair athlete who often competes in marathons. He used his competition wheelchair mounted on rollers for this record attempt. His previous personal best was 185 kilometres which he surpassed after 18 hr 17 min. He covered 50 miles in 5 hr 40 min, 100 km in 7 hr 10 min, 100 miles in 16 hr 25 min and 200 km in 19 hr 48 mins. Carlos´best distance over one hour was 20.03 km in the very first hour of the attempt, he also managed 20 km in the final hour of the attempt.
