The fastest marathon dressed in a police uniform is 3 hr 6 min 27 sec, achieved by Christopher Huggett (UK), in Manchester, UK, on 10 October 2021.

Christopher is a serving police officer. He attempted this record to raise money for the Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, who are the chosen charities for his constabulary.

Christopher has run competitively since secondary school. Whilst at university, he completed the Marathon des Sables and was one of the youngest competitors to finish. He then joined the Royal Marines and completed the arduous commando course.

During his service, Christopher competed for the Royal Marines and Royal Navy at marathon distance, racing at the London Marathon inter-service championships and Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC. He has also competed in IRONMAN® and cross country skiing events. His marathon PB is 2:43:36 which he managed in 2019; while his best IRONMAN® was 10 hr 6 min.

He trained predominately in normal running kit but sometimes included long runs wearing a plate carrier which is heavier than his police body armour. He opted to practice running in his helmet indoors on treadmills, rather than outside.
