The farthest basketball shot made while sitting on the court is 19.58 metres (64 ft 3 in), and was achieved by Joshua Walker (USA) in Monroe, Louisiana, USA, on 22 January 2022.

One of Josh's friends suggested that he attempted a record for a YouTube video. He has been shooting long distance tricks his entire life so he was very confident that he could achieve this.

Outside of making sure he could get the ball into the hoop, he didn't practice for the record at all. He says "I would have been upset if I made the shot while practicing but not during the actual attempt".

Josh has had his eye on a few other records that he's also confident he can achieve. He enjoyed this attempt and is sure he will try it again in the future.

Josh expresses how much achieving a Guinness World Records title means to him "I was obsessed with the books when I was younger, so in a way this would make everything come full circle. Also, I want to show my mom because I know she will love it".
