Of the nine character classes available in Valve’s online shooter Team Fortress 2, the Engineer is the character of choice for 15% of all players, which makes him the game’s most popular protagonist. This preference may have something to do with the fact that the Engineer has the longest lifespan in the game, surviving for one and a half minutes on average. On the other hand, the least popular character amongst gamers is the Heavy, with only 8% choosing him. This lumbering warrior does have his advantages, though – Heavy players are generally the most effective, averaging 82 kills per hour of gaming.
