The heaviest weight lifted with glue is a forklift truck with additional weight for a total of 8.1 tonnes (17,857 lb 7.04 oz). The forklift was lifted for one hour by a crane, suspended on a 7-cm diameter (2-in) steel cylinder, which had been glued together one hour earlier using the commercially available adhesive “Scotch Weld” made by 3M. The feat was achieved by Markus Schleser and Jens Schoene (both Germany) of RWTH Aachen University at KJ Sonderanlagen, Ludwigsfelde, Germany, on 27 April 2011.

The event was recorded for the German infotainment programme TerraXpress and aired on ZDF on 19 June 2011.
