The farthest distance swimming in one week in a 50 metre pool (male) is 358.2 km (222.6 mi) and was achieved by Spyros Chrysikopoulos (Greece), at the Athens Olympic Stadium, Greece, on 9-16 May 2021.

Spyros began swimming at the age of 6 and started his ultra-swimming journey at the age of 12.

During his attempt, Spyros' biggest challenges to overcome were sore shoulders and general muscle pain, as well as dry skin caused by the chlorine.

His diet consisted off mainly plant nutrition, pasta, rice, cereal bars, breadsticks, fruit and seeds. He also stayed hydrated with lots of water, hot tea and electrolytes.

Spyros was also not alone during his attempt. By his side as a support team were his family, doctor and best friend.

After the attempt, Spyros opted for active recovery and after two days he went back into slow swimming. He was then soon back to swimming long distances after on week.
