The most cyclists completing a 1 km time trial in 1 hour is 40 and was achieved by Sport Relief (UK) at the Lee Valley VeloPark in London, UK, on 18 March 2016.

Sport Relief raised over 55 million pounds over their whole campaign. The participants for this record attempt included Olympians James Cracknell and Sally Gunnell, Mike Bushell of BBC Breakfast News, Alistair Campbell the former Downing Street Press Officer and cyclists from a number of cycling clubs across London. James Cracknell performed his lap (and a subsequent 140 laps ) on a modified Chopper bicycle to raise further funds for the charity.
