The European eSports outfit Team Liquid scooped a record-breaking $10,862,683 when they took first place at the seventh The International Dota 2 Championships on 2–12 August 2017 in the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington, USA. Their winnings were part of a total prize haul of $24,787,916 – the largest prize pool in eSports. Team Liquid beat China's Team Newbee in the grand final.

Although originally founded in Netherlands, Team Liquid's victorious Dota 2 team of 2017 comprised players of multiple nationalities, from Finland, Jordan, Bulgaria, Germany and Lebanon.
