The most marathons completed in one calendar year by a woman was 106 by Yolanda Holder (USA) between 1 January and 31 December 2010. She began with the Texas Marathon in Kingswood, Texas, USA, and finished with the Savages Seven Marathon in Ocala, Florida, USA. Holder, nicknamed "Walking Diva," estimated in a media report that she spent approximately $25,000 on travel, accommodations and entry fees in her year-long quest for the record.
