The most pull ups in 24 hours is 4,182 and was achieved by Kyle Gurkovich (USA) at Retro Fitness in Piscataway, New Jersey, USA, between 14-15 June 2014.

Kyle is a math teacher by day and a keen fitness and stamina competitor in his spare time. Having lost a childhood friend and student to cancer, Kyle wanted to find a way to raise money to help combat the disease. He decided to break the record for 'Most pull ups in 24 hours' to raise funds for the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

During his attempt, Kyle worked in sets of five, four and three, breaking the old record of 4,030 pull ups just over 15 hours into the record attempt. After completing 4,180 pull ups in 16 hours, Kyle took a four hour break due to a lack of witnesses. Upon returning to the attempt 20 hours in, he performed two more pull ups, giving him a total of 4,182, before deciding to end his attempt.
