The highest pinfall in tenpin bowling in 24 hours by a pair was 27,499 pins by Chad McLean and Gene Dalusio (both USA) at the AMF Alley Katz Bowling Center in Gainesville, Florida, USA, from 30 April to 1 May 2011. The duo combined for 1,046 strikes thrown, accounting for 38% of their total pinfall.
This record is not for traditional bowling score, but for pins knocked down cumulatively. Thus participants have the choice of resetting to a 10-pin frame after each throw or taking a second throw at whatever number of pins remain after their first ball.
