The Largest Bharatanatyam Dance consists of 10,176 participants, and was achieved by Department of Tourism, Government of Tamil Nadu (India) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, on 8 February 2020.
Tamil Nadu Tourism Department officially became GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ holders when 10,176 participants qualified for the Largest Bharatanatyam Dance. The song and music in Thanjavur Style was specially choreographed by Mr.Athistabalan “Aadavallan Isaiyalayam”. The dance was based on the famous epic in Tamil “Thirukkural”.
The dancers were from different states of India (Andrapradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharastra, Puduchery, Rajasthan, Telangana) as well as the State of Tamil Nadu - dancers from Sri Lanka also participated.
The event was held at S.I.V.E.T. College, Velachery Tambaram Road, Gowrivakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
