Lars Clausen (USA) covered 14,686.82 km (9,125.97 miles) by unicycle between 22 April and 12 November 2002. His double crossing of the USA started in Tillamook, Oregon, and finishing in Los Angeles, California, taking in 48 states in between.

The ride was a fundraiser for the Seward Peninsula Lutheran Ministry. Clausen is a Pastor. He used a 91 cm (36 in) Coker unicycle with improved seat and pedal cranks of varying lengths depending on the terrain being crossed.
