Usain Bolt made Guinness World Records history tonight by becoming the first man to retain both Olympic sprint titles after winning gold in the 200m.
Bolt finished in a time of 19.32, holding off training partner Yohan Blake in silver and Warren Weir in bronze to make it a clean sweep for Jamaica.
Blake had been tipped by many to beat Bolt after getting the better of his compatriot at the Jamaican trials - their last race over the distance before London.
However, the double 100m champion ran a superb first half of the race, leading by a metre coming into the home straight, ensuring he added the 200m Olympic title to the 100m gold he had won on Sunday.
Despite Bolt's dominant display, he was unable to beat his own world record time of 19.19, set at the at the IAAF World Championships in Berlin 2009.
